After receiving the permission and blessings from her gurus, Sri Tapan Baidya and Padma Shri Vidushi Sumitra Guha, Samia began teaching students in Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia in the "Guru-Shishya Parampara" (Master-Apprentice Tradition).

Solo presentation of selected compositions from a variety of South Asian poets/composers such as Kazi Nazrul Islam, Lalon Fakir, Tulsidas, to name a few. Event: For a Poetry and Art Program for High School students managed by Lisa Pegram and sponsored by the Freer and Sackler Galleries, Smithsonian Institution.

Lecture-demonstration on Hindustani (North Indian) Classical vocal music in a course titled: "India: Culture, Traditions, and Gandhi" offered at the Gandhi Memorial Center in Bethesda, Maryland for the members of the Osher Life-long Learning Institute (OLLI) of the American University. It introduced participants to the arts and philosophy of India through lectures and demonstrations.
